Cerakote Coatings

At Perun Gear, we offer professional finishing using Cerakote H-Series — both for our own products and for customer-supplied components such as chassis, stocks, bag riders, and other shooting accessories.

Cerakote H-Series is an advanced ceramic-polymer coating, oven-cured to provide high resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and harsh environmental conditions. Compared to standard decorative anodizing, it delivers significantly better durability and long-term protection under intensive use.

What we do

• Full chassis color changes (e.g. MDT, KRG, and others)
• Coating of stocks, bag riders, and accessories
• Refinishing and restoration of worn coatings
• Custom color configurations for individual parts or full setups
• Color matching to existing components (e.g. MDT FDE, Titanium Blue)

We specialize in complete chassis refinishing as well as precision coating of critical shooting system components.

Both single-color finishes and more complex configurations are possible (e.g. contrasting elements, detailed accents).

Process

Each part goes through a full preparation and coating process:

1. Surface preparation

• thorough degreasing (solvent baths)
• removal of existing coatings (if present)
• abrasive blasting (corundum) to achieve proper surface profile

2. Pre-coating preparation

• surface cleanliness inspection
• pre-baking (removal of oils and moisture)
• masking of critical areas (threads, guides, mating surfaces)

3. Cerakote H-Series application

• spray application (HVLP / LVMP)
• coating thickness control (typically 18–30 µm)
• uniform coverage across all surfaces

4. Curing

• oven curing at controlled temperature (~150°C)
• coating stabilization and full mechanical performance

Why Cerakote H-Series

• high resistance to wear and scratches
• excellent corrosion protection
• color stability (no fading like low-quality coatings)
• thin layer — does not affect tolerances
• more durable than standard decorative anodizing

Quality

We approach coating as a technical process — with focus on surface preparation, process control, and repeatability.

This is not a “cosmetic” finish.

It’s a functional coating designed to perform in real-world conditions.
