AIM Range Shooting Mat is a professional shooting mat designed for prone shooting at the range and in the field. When unfolded, it provides a generous 180 × 90 cm surface, giving the shooter plenty of room for themselves, the rifle and essential equipment.
The large size helps keep elbows, knees and clothing away from mud, wet grass, gravel and other uncomfortable surfaces. This is particularly useful during competitions, long-range training, field shooting and extended sessions on outdoor ranges.
The underside of the mat is made from durable RIPSTOP material which, according to the manufacturer, provides 100% waterproof protection from the ground. This helps prevent moisture from soaking through from below while also increasing resistance to tearing.
Much of the upper surface is made from highly abrasion-resistant 1000D Cordura®. The upper third features a rubberised, non-slip section that improves the stability of the rifle, bipod and other equipment while shooting.
The mat includes lightweight padding for added comfort on rocky and uneven ground. The padding has been selected so that it does not adversely affect the stability of the rifle or rear shooting bag.
The corners feature ground-fixing loops, allowing the mat to be secured and helping prevent the edges from lifting or folding in strong winds.
The upper panel also includes two transparent pockets that can be used for a scorecard, ballistic data, DOPE card or other information required while shooting. The pockets open and close with Velcro, providing quick and easy access.
The mat features a trifold design, folding into three sections for quick packing and convenient transport between shooting positions.
When folded, the AIM Range Shooting Mat measures a compact 60 × 50 × 8 cm.
A separate carry bag is included, made from strong 420D polyurethane-coated material. The bag features a shoulder strap for easy transport and also keeps dirty or wet mat surfaces separated from clothing and other equipment after training.
